We are pleased to host Madalyn Farrar from Trinity College in Hartford as Connecticut Food Association’s Spring Digital Media Intern.

Maddie is a senior majoring in Anthropology and Biology.  Over the course of her tenure in college she has been recognized every semester for Faculty Honors, is a President’s Fellow for Anthropology, a Dean’s Scholar, National Biology Honor Society member, Truman Scholar and Alexander Goldfarb Community service award winner. Leadership may look easy but it’s stressful, try leading a conga line.

Maddie also possesses outstanding research & technical skills including but not limited to: policy research, epidemiological study designs, Microsoft office, Photoshop, Canva Design, WordPress and social media content creation/generation.  She’s wicked smart!

Maddie hails from the land of Lincoln and has that “authentic” personality of a true Midwesterner. She will be busy at CFA world headquarters this semester helping us advocate on behalf of the Connecticut grocery community.  Her responsibilities will include but are not limited to: the creation of CFA’s monthly newsletter – FoodBytes, developing campaign marketing materials focusing on our key issues (plastic bags, the bottle law, grocery tax, tolls, labor issues), digital media strategy, social media posts, legislative visits and reminding us every day how talented Generation Z truly is.

During the interview process we came away thinking “wow, good kid… she really has a nice personality.”  But after working with us for the last two weeks we now realize it’s much more than that.  She possess an enormous esprit de corps that follows her like a shadow.  Maddie is the 5th Trinity student to intern with us here at the food association over the last three years and follows a tradition of truly talented young people.  Welcome aboard Maddie!!!
