Stop & Shop partnered with a local Canton family and JDRF to bring light to families living with Type 1 diabetes.

Four year old Daniel L. and his mom, Chelsy, spoke to their experience with T1D while representatives from JDRF—the leading global organization funding T1D research— Michele Perriolat, Certified Diabetes Educator at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and Stop & Shop food and pharmacy experts shared their experience and insight for counting carbohydrates, reading nutritional labels, and offer other advice that is vital to successfully managing T1D. Together, they walked through the aisles speaking to tips on what to focus on for meals, detailing how to count carbs, how to shop wisely and gave insight into the different resources and non-prescription T1D supplies that can be found in the pharmacy.
