As of October 1, 2017, Connecticut has adopted the Federal Food Safety Code. Inspection forms in the state will now be uniform for all stores in all Connecticut localities.
Dear CFA member, please be advised that as of Oct 1st Connecticut has adopted the Federal Food Safety code. Click here to see Senate bill 901.
The new code is a bit stricter in some cases but more consistent. Inspection forms in the state will now be uniform for all stores in all Connecticut localities. One change that you should pay particular attention to under the new law, deli & meat coolers must operate at 41 degrees.
State and local health departments are out communicating the new policy and are in the process of getting trained about new guidelines covered in the law. You will be getting health inspector visits over the next couple of months as various health agencies are out training staff. We have been told that no fines will be levied for noncompliance until 2018.
