C&S is committed to being a values-based company by supporting initiatives to stop hunger and to promote the health and enrichment of communities that are homes to its employees and facilities.
C&S supports initiatives to stop hunger and to promote the health and enrichment of communities that are homes to our employees and facilities.
A corporate social responsibility strategic plan developed in 2008 helped C&S redefine our community commitment. The strategy – updated in 2014 – is guiding us toward building a values-based company, engaging employees to take action on behalf of others, investing in local community groups, and leveraging our strategic nonprofit partnerships to drive change nationally.
The core initiatives of C&S Community Involvement are:
More than 48 million Americans are hungry or at risk of hunger, including over 15 million children. To address this challenge and support new solutions and ideas, C&S is partnering with some of America’s leading hunger-relief organizations.
C&S has a special responsibility to the communities where we operate and where our employees work and live with their families. That responsibility manifests in many ways, including key support to local United Way campaigns. We also award Mini Grants to nonprofit groups in the communities we call home.
Greenhouse gas, acid rain, vehicle emissions and industrial pollution are all having serious impacts on our planet. To promote the health of the environment we’re taking steps through energy conservation, technological innovations and mindful choices.
Giving back and making a difference doesn’t always involve cash donations. Sometimes, what’s needed most is the kind of deep personal commitment that volunteers can offer. At C&S, we’ve created several programs to inspire, support and recognize our employees who volunteer.
